TED stand for Technology Entertainment and Design. It is an interdisciplinary group dedicated to exploring issues from new perspectives. They have posted presentations from their meetings called TED Talks. I URGE everyone to check it out. I could spend hours on this site. Some of the talks are really inspiring.
