So True

Perhaps this cartoonist is onto something.

Land of the Lost?!?!

Sure, I loved Land of the Lost...when I was ten years old. When they announced that they were making it into a movie, I felt a flutter of excitement, but just a tiny flutter. Then when I heard that Will Ferrell would be starring in the movie I was moved in an altogether kind of way. Don't get me wrong, Ferrell makes me shoot soda out of my nose at the theater, but is Land of the Lost supposed to be a dumb, grossout comedy? IMHO a serious remake of this would be much more satisfying.

Mutants on the Loose

The website worth100.com sponsored a contest to photoshop a mutant animal. One of the entries was a modern day Cerberus.

Fire Up the Grill

I wonder how big a grill you would need to cook this whale shark.

Upcomming Red Sonja Movie

Rose McGowan has signed to star in a Robert Rodriguez produced version of Conan's scarlet cohort, Red Sonja. MTV.com had the poster below on their front page.

The new Batmobile...Er... I mean Tiger

A stunning concept car from the Chinese auto maker Geely was unveiled at the Beijing auto show. The 'Tiger' has mean lines and almost looks like a street legal Batmobile.

Lucas in Carbonite

Wolverine Movie Teaser

If this teaser is any indication, 2009 will be come the year of the Wolverine. I hear that they had a 3 minute clip at the San Diego Comic Con that included Sabertooth, Deadpool, the Blob and Gambit. That sounds good to me.

Enjoy,

Interesting Building in Beijing

The new China Central Television headquarters building in Beijing is pretty bizarre looking. Both towers are built at an angle. How do the elevators work? Maybe they have a Wonkavator. With all of the interesting buildings being build in China, it may begin to look pretty bad. With the building boom there, everyone is competing to construct the most extreme design. Some day they will all just looked dated and silly. Perhaps they should try to build beautiful buildings instead. Anyone for an Empire State Building V2.0?

Is it Batman or Batterman?

WTF? Christain Bale is being accussed of beating on his mom and sister. I bet it was the Scarcrow's fear toxin. Just when I begin to like a movie star they turn out to a a-hole. Well, at least I can still like Mel Gibson... What?? He said what, about who??? Crap!

Holy Cow, That is a Lot of Chairs

This video proves that sometimes you run the risk of an audience forgetting that it is just a show. I bet they needed some aspirin after this bout.

Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog

Neil Patrick Harris rocks. Check out this Joss Wheadon helmed Internet short. Good Stuff.

Chess Boxing? You Gotta Be Kidding Me!

Hybrid sport of 'chess boxing' gains popularity? This has got to be a joke, right?

New Star Trek Movie Posters

Posters for the upcoming, J.J. Abrams helmed Star Trek prequel have been hitting the web. They look pretty good to me. It is about time somebody injected some new life into the Trek franchise.

Whoops, Bad Logo Design

This is a cross-promotional ad for an offering from the mobile phone operator "au" and Adidas in Japan. Is it a wonder that they accidentally used this logo, as they often deny or ignore other important events during WWII? <*cough* suprise attack *cough*>

Batman Bad Guys...Fight! Fight!

Check out this quick poll to see who Batman's baddest bad guy is.

Mindblowing Watchmen Tralier Online

An exclusive Watchmen trailer just went online on Empire Online. It looks like they are going all-in on this movie.

The Next Joker?

After seeing Andy Dick's mugshot today I have come to the conclusion that he should be the next joker. It doesn't get much creepier than this.

Musical Interlude

Just a quick musical interlude to spice up your day. I have always liked this song by Jem.

Don't Mess With Nerds

A city IT worker in San Francisco locked down the city's computer system and won't let them have the password. I guess they shouldn't have given him a bad review. I bet he got caught playing Warcraft at work. It's like I always tell my young cousin, don't mess with nerds. They can find all kinds of novel ways to mess right back...or they could be your boss after college.

Fallout 3 Trailer

The release of Fallout 3 is approaching. I loved the original game (Wasteland) in college and really enjoyed Fallout 1 and 2 as well. I can't wait for this to come out.

Ghost Town Trailer

Check out this new trailer for the Ricky Gervais movie Ghost Town. I like the looks of it.

The Real Plastic Man

Rumor has it that Keanu Reeves is slated to play Plastic Man in an upcoming film directed by the Wachowski brothers. I guess when I think of plastic actors, Keanu is the first guy who comes to mind. Dude, harsh!

Vertical Farm

Urban farms are getting more interest these days. It sounds like a cool idea, but will it really work? I have heard of people growing stuff in their basements....but that is a different story.

Zombie T-Shirt

I have to save up for one of these zombie T's.

Great Moments in My Family History

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with the famous painting of General Washington crossing the ice-choked Delaware river to surprise the British troops in Trenton. Well, I have an ancestor that was involved in this famous battle...

My progenitor, Georg Heinemann, was asleep on the other side of the river, soon to be made a POW. He was a proud Hessian soldier fighting for the British. After capture he agreed to change sides for 50 acres of land. After the war he married and became an American.

Graduation Picture of Grandma

Thanks to info provided by my Cousin's wife, I am able to share a great photo of my grandmother. This is the type of thing that is great about the Internet. Before the sharing of so much information, I would never have come across this piece of my history. She graduated with the class of 1935 at Texhoma High in Texhoma Oklahoma. Is it me or do they all look like they are already 35 years old??

Hot Political Book

I discovered this new political book that should help me in my future career as political panderer.

Kind of Gross

Balla Powder: Scented Scrotum Talc for Men
Was this a product that people have been clamoring for? I guess there must be a market.

They Are Spying One Me, I Tell Ya!

Again, Real Life Adventures reflects real life!

Bravo Was Robbed!

ABC, FX tops with gay-rights group

GLAAD named ABC and FX as the most 'gay-friendly' networks on TV. Why do we need to know this. My suggestion would be to have programming that lifts up all people, not just those belong to this group or that group. I guess being named the most 'people-friendly' network isn't a goal worth working towards.

Anyway, IMHO, Bravo was robbed.

Sound of jelly wobbling recorded for architects' competition

The sound of a jelly wobbling has been captured for the first time to mark a unique celebration that blends the staple of childhood parties with architecture, art and science.

Okay, guys, listen to it with your eyes closed and tell me what you hear.

Iran Issues Fatwa Against AT&T

Iranian clerics issued a fatwa against AT&T today to show their displease at the telecom company for using Iran's photoshopped shot of their missile launch in AT&T advertisements. The company was warned that if they do not issue an immediate apology and stone to death their director of marketing, a Jihad man be the next step.

Hellboy Featurette

I enjoyed thes featurettes on Hellboy II.

Who Is the Toughest?

Try this poll on the AMC website.

A Trail Like No Other

Good Stuff...full of geeky goodness.

The Puppet Master

Warning: If my last post didn't make you want to claw your eyes out, this one will.

It appears that Dolly Parton will be starring in the next installment of the Puppetmaster movies. Oh man, I hope that is why she looks like that. You don't think that her fans got confused and had her stuffed, do you? The eyes do look a bit glassy. Seriously, I have to give props to the gal from Pigeon Forge. She once said 'It takes a lot of money to look this cheap." You go girl! Preferably where I can't see you and get creeped out again.

That Is Just Wrong!

Why, Jim Carrey? Why? We want to see your woman, Jenny McCarthy, in her swimsuit, not YOU in her swimsuit. Is it time for rehab, young man?

A Blast From the 80s

In celebration of Summer I offer up this 80s party song by Joe King Carrasco. I hereby declare this weekend a Party Weekend. Duuuude, what were we thinking in the 80s?

Real Life Adventures

The comic Real Life Adventures continues to spy on me and chronicle my personal life. When do I get my royalty check???

Youch! Why Would You Do This?

It has come to this...the World's first eyeball tattoo. Speechless...

One question though. Is it me, or are those finger's sticking a needle in your eye a little dirty?

Men's Vogue?????

I was flabbergasted when I discovered that they publish a Men's version of Vogue. I think that they are playing fast and loose with the term "Men". I remember when Popular Mechanics and Playboy were considered Men's magazines. This is just one more example of the wussification of America. I guess the next step it making all the little boys attend those 'special' health classes that only the girls got to attend in Junior High school.

Fun Art

Sometimes art can be fun. DeviantArt's FilthyLuker produced this fantastic be-tentacled building installation somewhere in France with collaborator Pedro Estrellas. FilthyLuker's terse description: "Octo-pied Building: a house with tentacular cancer."

"Freedom Loving" Senate Takes Huge Dump on the Bill of Rights

... and uses the rest of the constitution to wipe its collective behind.

Senate Approves Bill to Broaden Wiretap Powers

Ah, ain't it great when we trade our freedoms for security? I guess not enough people in the US will 'nut up' and accept that sometimes the price of freedom is blood, even our own. I am betting that the chances of being killed by terrorists in the authoritarian regimes of the past were pretty slim, but that doesn't mean that is how I want to live. I think that the public must realize that if we choose freedom, we also choose risk. As they say 'Freedom Isn't Free', not is it safe or easy. So, grow a pair America and accept the fact that if you want to live free, bad guys will use that same freedom as cover for their evil deeds. It is the price that must be paid.

It's Getting Very Strange

This campaign is getting really strange. I think aliens may be controlling people.

Addictive Game

Try your luck at launching a hedgehog into orbit. I found the game very addictive.

Electric Motorcycle

This is one badass electric motorcycle. The wheels are side by side instead of front to back. It uses the same gyro technology as the Segway in order to keep it upright. I'd drive one of these sum'bitches.

Uncanny X-Men Preview

Mind Blowing

I am not sure if I agree with Doug Rushkoff on the New Renaissance, but no matter what you believe, his talk really makes you think. I highly recommend that you view his talk to foment some real pondering.

Not Much for Cats

I am not a cat hater and have never owned one. However, this is a very cute video.

More Hellboy Goodness

Is it me or are they really giving us a lot of fun stuff to watch for Hellboy II? I love this shite!

Zombie Boy

WTF? I think that this fellow has taken tattooing just a bit too far. I don't think there is enough laser surgery in the world to undo this mess.

RPGs in the Ancient World

I had no idea that D&D was played in the Roman Empire. Christie's recently auctioned an ancient 20 sided (isodecahedron) die for over $17,000. I hope my dice are worth that much some day.
